CRICKET MUQABLA: Experience the unseen side of cricket !!!

Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar and Rotaract Club of Peenya along with Samarthanam trust for the disabled will be conducting one of their landmark sports event 'CRICKET MUQABLA' which is an innovative cricket format.

The main aim of this event is to create an awareness about the abilities of people who are visually impaired and to break the mental barriers of the society by addressing the prejudice that believes otherwise, through the game of cricket.  Also the other objectives of this event includes:
  • Promoting sports as a career option for people with visual impairment
  • Building self confidence among people with visual impairment
  • Integration of both abled and disabled bodies together, creating an environment to understand mutual strengths and challenges


CRICKET MUQABLA at a glance:
  • Its a combined cricket event where in people with and without visual impairment can take part. 
  • An estimated number of 50 teams are set to take part in this grand sporting event. 
  • This sporting event is jointly being organised by Rotaract Club of Bangalore Jayanagar and Rotaract Club of Peenya along with Samarthanam trust for the disabled
  • This event is being held on 26th November 2017 (Sunday) at Sullivan Police Grounds (Opp Garuda Mall, Ashok Nagar)
CRICKET MUQABLA, event format and rules:

There are 2 parts to the tournament:

I. 6 on 6 abled cricket format. 
II. 11 on 11 format (6 abled players + 5 visually impaired players) • 
  • The qualifying rounds with be a 6 on 6 abled cricket knockout format with the top 4 teams qualifying for the semi-finals. 
  • The semi-finals and the final will be played in a unique 11 on 11 format with 6 abled and 5 visually impaired players in each team. 
  • The entire tournament will be played with a combination of the rules and regulations laid down by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the World Blind Cricket Council (WBCC).
