BSL 4: Rishabh Krishna shines as Thundering typhons beat Drakon force

Wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Krishna's brilliant knock helped Thundering Typhons to beat Drakon force in the 3rd match of BSL 4. Rishabh scored 58 runs from 60 balls with an impressive strike rate of 96.67. Also this knock was extra special as this was the first 50 of the tournament. Coming in to open the innings for Typhons, Rishabh was looking very comfortable with the bowling of Drakon force. On a pitch which has been troubling batsmen Rishabh was very comfortable. His innings comprised of 5 fours and 2 sixes on the legside. His innings was very well supported at the other end by Fahed Abousher who also played a crucial knock of  38 runs in 46 balls. He made most of his runs in singles and doubles and only hit 2 boundaries. Both these batsmen were involved in a partnership of 97 runs before Rishabh was dismissed by Manish Narayanan. Manish picked up 2 more wickets in next 2 deliveries and recorded the 1st hatrick of BSL's 4th edition.

Thundering typhons managed to set a target of 121 runs for Drakon force thanks to the superb innings from Rishabh and Fahed.

121 runs target in a 20 over game is not so difficult but on this pitch at Gokul Sports academy, it was actually a not so easy challenge. Drakon force got off to a good start with both openers Kaushal Mohan and Sudarshan looking in good touch but just when everything was going smoothly for Drakon force Rana Sukhveer struck for the Typhons by dismissing Sudarshan. The dangerous left handed batsman Kedar was dismissed in the next delivery by Rana and it was a double blow for Drakon force. Soon Lennold and the set opener Kaushal was dismissed for 26 runs and Typhons looked running away with the game. The middle order of Drakon force could not offer any resistance and kept losing wickets, Manish Narayanan who impressed for Drakon force with the ball was also impressive with the bat as he was trying to stage a fightback with couple of good boundaries but he did not receive any support from the other end as all the batsmen of Drakon force fell easily and was allout for 90 runs. Manish remained notout on 26 runs from 26 balls. 

The most impressive bowler for Typhons was Ashutosh Singh who picked 3 wickets by giving away just 8 runs of his 4 overs. His prized scalp also included the wicket of Kaushal Mohan who scored 26 runs and was the joint top scorer for Drakon force in batting along with Manish. Rana and Fahed picked 2 wickets each while Adarshanand picked up 1 wicket.

Rishabh Krishna was awarded man of the match for his brilliant batting.
