A Reason to smile for all football fans in Bangalore.

At a time when the new soccer club from Bangalore South United FC failed to qualify for India's topmost football league (I-League) here is a reason for all football crazy people in namma Bengaluru to celebrate. AIFF ( All India Football Federation) has given green signal for a new soccer club to be formed by JSW Group from our city to participate in I-League 2013-14. 
AIFF during its Emergency Committee meeting in New Delhi on Monday cleared Bangalore’s JSW and Mumbai Tigers to play in the 2013-14 edition of the I-League.
“We believe these are exciting times for Indian football and we are happy to be entering the league at this stage,” said team owner Sajjan Jindal on Tuesday. “We would like to thank the AIFF for awarding us the Bangalore franchise. Popular Argentinian Soccer Club's Football School in Bangalore.

One of the most popular soccer club from the land of Messi and Maradonna, BOCA JUNIORS have launched their Boca Juniors Football School India (BJSFI) in Bangalore.

The Argentinian club have produced some legends in the game of Soccer which includes Diego Maradona, Gabriel Batistuta and Carlos Tevez. With this launch BOCA JUNIORS too have joined the list of popular international soccer clubs to make their foray on the Indian shores.

While clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have already set up camps, Boca Juniors will be the first from Latin America to set a shop here. The first camp will be held at the APB ground here from June 10 to 14. The year-long camp will be held in various venues across the City from July 1.

“Football is growing in popularity in India year by year and we strongly believe we can play a role in developing the sport,” Daniel Angelici, chairman of Boca Juniors.

Rangaswamy Cup, 64th Senior National Hockey Championship (Men) in Bengaluru

Karnataka State Hockey Association, KSHA will conduct the Final Phase of the 64th Senior National Hockey Championship for men from 8th to 16th May 2013 at the KSHA Hockey Stadium, Bangalore 560 025. The championship will be played out for the Rangaswamy Cup. 

In the Final Phase - the teams that won the First Phase of the Six Zonal held at different parts of the country will be vying for the top honors.
The Six Zonal Winners are:  1. North - Punjab 2. Central - UP 3. North Eastern - Manipur 4. East - Jharkhand 5. West -Mumbai  6. South - Karnataka.
The Championship will be played on a single pool competition and the first two ranked teams will play a final match on 16th May to lift the Rangaswamy Cup.
All the League Matches will be played in the afternoon and the Final Match will be played under the lights. 
Shri Dlnesh Reddy, IPS, DGP of Andhra Pradesh and the President of the Indian Hockey Federation will grace the occasion of the Final Match as the Chief Guest.

The story behind Jude Felix Hockey Academy !!!

Jude Felix Hockey Academy or JFHA is a Hockey academy started by Mr Jude Felix, former Olympian and Indian Hockey captain. He was well supported by his former team mates and Karnataka Hockey Association. The main aim of this venture was to promote the game of Hockey among the under-privileged children in our country at large and develop new talents for the game. It has not been very difficult for Jude Felix to bring in quality coaches to this academy since many former Olympians, International coaches, International and National players had all supported him in this social cause.
