Gender doesn't matter for 'SOCCER'

At a time when Soccer is largely considered a men's game in the garden city there are certainly few who considers it to be an all gender game. Girls in garden city are no more strangers to the beautiful game of soccer in namma Bengaluru. This was quite evident in the just concluded Budweiser 6'a' side tourney in Bangalore. The surprising element of this tournament was the participation of few female teams The spirit of these girls during the matches have been something to look forward to. And if many thinks this is not enough to support the rise of fame of soccer among the female gender in Bangalore, there are many other positives to support this claim.
I dont know how many of you people will be knowing about the girls soccer team in all top colleges in Bangalore. The colleges which have girls football teams are Christ University, Mount Carmel college, Jyothi Nivas College, St Josephs College of Commerce and few more colleges. These girls may not possess the same skills a…

Mayank and Pandey stars as Karnataka advances to the next stage of the inter state T-20 tournament

A comfortable 9 wicket victory over Andhra in the final league fixture of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament powered Karnataka to the top of the standings among South Zone teams and qualify for the next stage of the tournament. Karnataka rode on a 135-run unbeaten partnership between in form Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul. After bowling out Andhra for 130, Karnataka chased down the target in 18.1 overs. Needing 131 runs to win, Karnataka lost opener Manish Pandey who was outstanding with the bowl in the first over. However, Mayank and Rahul saw through a tight spell from Andhra's opening bowlers KS Shahabuddin and T Atchuta Rao scoring just five runs an over in the initial five overs. Once past that period, there was no stopping either batsmen as they scored runs with considerable ease. Mayank followed up his century in the previous match with an unbeaten 75 (60 balls, 9 fours), while Rahul scored 60 off 47 balls and hit four boundaries and two huge sixes. Earlier in the day, A…

Syed Mushtaq ali T-20 tournament (south zone) results:

Half-centuries by Mayank Agarwal and Manish Pandey were the highlights of Karnataka’s convincing nine-wicket victory over Goa in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 match played at the PESIT grounds here today. After putting their opponents on to bat, the Karnataka bowlers did well to bowl out Goa for 119. Skipper R Vinay Kumar and Abhimanyu Mithun dismissed the top three batsmen early in the innings to reduce the visitors to 6 for 2. Ravikant Shukla was the only batsman in the top five to post double-digit scores; he made 18 from 21 balls before he slashed a wide one from Manish Pandey straight to KP Appanna in the outfield. Kinan Vaz top-scored in the innings with 38 and he found an able ally in Reagan Pinto who made 28. The pair added 69 runs over a period of eight overs before Pinto made the mistake of not grounding his bat when Manish Pandey scored a direct hit; he made 28 from 25 balls. Vaz was eighth-man dismissed; he hit three boundaries and a six in his 27-ball knock which was c…
